Carol Cooper

Born in London, Carol Cooper was a few months old when she moved to Alexandria with her Egyptian mother and British father. She returned to the UK at 18 and studied medicine at Cambridge University. Her writing developed in tandem with her medical career. After a string of health books and decades in health journalism, she turning to writing fiction - and fulfilled a secret but long-held dream to live in Hampstead and write novels. All her novels are multicultural and contain an intriguing medical element. Her latest, The Girls from Alexandria, mines the rich seam of her origins.
