Watermill Bookshop
Aberfeldy Watermill Bookshop, Gallery & Cafe is a three-storey former oatmeal mill in the picturesque Highland Perthshire town of Aberfeldy. The Watermill was opened in 2005 by Michael Palin. In 2009 we were awarded UK Independent Bookshop of the Year and in 2016, included in the New Yorker book of 75 Greatest Bookstores in the World. In 2022 the Bookshop and Cafe featured in National Geographic's top 7 UK bookshops and cafes. We have a range of titles including fiction, non-fiction, Scottish and local interest, walks and maps, and also a dedicated children’s room. In the café you can enjoy excellent coffee, fine teas and home bakes, or a light menu of local produce with vegan options. Upstairs, the art gallery has a changing programme of exhibitions. Next door is our homeware shop, Homer, which specialises in decorative homeware and exclusive tweed upholstered furniture.
